About us
True economic, social, and human development in Syria can’t take place without the empowerment and contribution of the cultural sector.
In 2007, Rawafed, the Cultural Project of The Syria Trust for Development, was formed to ensure that creative people would play a leading role in Syria’s development, and that their efforts would be properly invested in the country’s most important resource – Its culture and heritage.
How?
Rawafed creates programmes that help Syrians use their creativity and their cultural resources (anything from fine arts, handicrafts, food, to storytelling or archaeological sites) to improve their quality of life and to affect positive changes around them. We provide practical tools, support and training, and work with partners to promote a positive working environment.
